Jdot breezy on life & purpose
Dream: One thing I like to ask people is, especially someone like you that has like creativity just oozing out of you man. Like I love what you do. When someone says the word “music” what does that make you feel and how does that make you translate, you know, how you express yourself?
Jdot: It depends on what type of music you're talking about. Music puts you back in an era. So, like, I hear certain songs, and it'll really, like, make me think about my childhood. And it don't have nothing to do with my childhood.
I think music might be one of the most powerful alchemist tools that we have in this reality to express ourself to another human. One song that makes me look back on my whole life, like, you know how they be like, life flash before your eyes? One song that makes me do that, shout out Kid Ink, Time of Your Life. It's a song by Kid Ink called Time of Your Life. That shit just made me reflect back on my whole childhood.

Dream: And I know this is like a big question. There isn't really a right perspective. But in your opinion, now that you've lived life and you've been here and you've made music you've done all these beautiful things, what do you think life is like? Why are we here and what do you feel like your purpose is?
Jdot: Here is really like to help others. Because the angle I like, that's why I get my ego from. My self-esteem. My boost. Knowing that I helped somebody and got them out of a worse situation into a better situation. So, like, me knowing I helped somebody and I did good deeds. It kind of like give me a self-esteem boost, like an ego boost. So it's like, I don't know, it just shoot me all the way up. You feel me? But I just feel like life is just all about...making it into what you make it. You determine your future. You determine your outcome. You determine how everything goes on around you, your environment, everything. Nothing around you determines you.
Dream: Does it bring you back to an actual moment where you can almost feel like you were there?
Jdot: Yeah, it's vivid. I can see it. It's there. It's saddening, though, because it makes you feel different. I wish I'd go back to this time. I know how much I took time for granny. Yeah, it's like damn. That's what that song do to me like that song put me in a trance.
